Sachet 1: CLEANER

Cleaner

In case of accident or unwellness, seek medical advice immediately (show application instructions or safety data sheet if possible). Remove affected person from the danger area and lay down. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person or a person with cramps. If unconscious place in recovery position and seek medical advice.
Remove person to fresh air and keep warm and at rest. In case of respiratory tract irritation, consult a physician.
Change contaminated, saturated clothing. After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. Rub greasy ointment into the skin.
After contact with the eyes, rinse with water with the eyelids open for a sufficient length of time, then consult an ophthalmologist immediately.
Do NOT induce vomiting. If accidentally swallowed rinse the mouth with plenty of water (only if the person is conscious) and obtain immediate medical attention. Let water be drunken in little sips (dilution effect).
Dizziness, Headache, Impairment of vision, Nausea, Vomiting.

Sachet 2: NANO PROTECTION

Cleaner

In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical attention.
Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing.
Rinse skin with water/shower. Remove/Take off immediately all contaminated clothing.
Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists, get medical advice/attention.
Rinse mouth out with water. Spit. Drink plenty of water. Do NOT induce vomiting. Vomiting: prevent asphyxia/aspiration pneumonia. Call a poison centre or a doctor if you feel unwell.
Symptoms/effects after inhalation: May cause respiratory irritation. Cough. Causes eyes to water. Symptoms/effects after eye contact: Eye irritation.

By using this product you agree that you have read all instructions carefully and applied the product as per the detailed instructions.

RETURNS
If you are not satisfied with your purchase you may return it to APL Protect within 30 (thirty) calendar days for a full refund, replacement or exchange if:

  • you have the original tax invoice provided with the order
  • the item is in its original unopened packaging

APL Protect will not be liable for any delivery cost to have the product returned.

DEFECTIVE ITEMS
Should this item be the subject of any manufacturing defect or failure, or is unsafe, as contemplated in the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (“CPA”), it may be returned to APL Protect for repair or replacement, or in exchange for a refund, within six months of the date of purchase, subject to the CPA. APL Protect and/or its suppliers reserve the right to examine the product and test the product to confirm the alleged defect, failure or safety hazard existed at the time of purchase, before the product will be repaired, replaced or refunded. We will not accept any returns of any products of which the packaging has been removed, opened or tampered with.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

for Windscreen Protector and Windscreen Protector EXTREME

GENERAL INFO
The optimum temperature to apply the windscreen coating is between +5°C to +20°C. Do not apply at lower than 5°C or above 30°C. It is essential that the windscreen is completely clean before the application of the coating. On average it takes a minimum of 5 minutes to clean a windscreen. However, it may take 10 minutes, even longer, to clean a highly contaminated windscreen. A clean windscreen = enhanced performance.

PREPARATION BEFORE STARTING WITH STEP 1
Wash the windscreen thoroughly with water. Ensure that no residues from cleaning agents are left on the surface as residues prevent the layer of SiO2 (pure glass) from bonding with the surface. The layer formed is only 100nm thick (500 times thinner than a human hair) and can only bond efficiently to a completely clean and dry surface. This initial cleaning will remove heavy contamination such as insect residue, traffic film, etc. We do not suggest using
washing-up liquid, as this places tenside residues on the windscreen. Surfactant-free cleaning agents are recommended. Rinse the windscreen
thoroughly. Dry the windscreen with a clean cloth or suitable kitchen roll/absorbent paper. Please note that the perimeter of the windscreen is often heavily soiled and drops of water can remain in this area. Wipe the perimeter of the windscreen, ensuring that any soiling agents are not transferred to the rest of the windscreen. Finally, wipe the windscreen wiper blades to remove heavy contamination.

Deep clean the windscreen with the enclosed CLEANER wipe (Sachet 1) or use a suitable alcohol cleaner. The cleaner must be free of any additional polishing agents. Continue to wipe the surface until the windscreen is completely clean. Ensure correct safety controls are followed when using alcohol. Follow the SDS guidelines. Test alcohol cleaners such as IPA on an inconspicuous area. After cleaning the windscreen with the CLEANER wipe, allow the windscreen to dry and then buff the windscreen with a micro-fiber cloth.

 

Apply the NANO PROTECTION to the windscreen (Sachet 2). Working quickly, ensure full coverage of the windscreen. Wipe with both vertical and horizontal actions to ensure full coverage. Continue wiping until the wipe becomes dry (approximately 90 seconds when the temperature is 15°C to 20°C). Wipe the outer edge of the windscreen at the last moment to avoid any possible contamination of the central area of the screen. Finally wipe the coating swab along the wiper blade rubber. The pre-impregnated swab contains 6ml of coating. This is optimised for coating a car windscreen. Please use 2 coating swabs for trucks, vans and large vehicles.

 

Allow the coating to dry for approximately 5 to 30 minutes (5 minutes in warm weather, eg. 25°C, and 30 minutes in cool weather, eg. 10°C).

After application the surface may look slightly “cloudy”. Buff the surface with the clean side of a micro-fiber cloth to remove any residue which contributes to the cloudy appearance.

AFTER CARE
The coating takes 10 hours to fully cure, but the windscreen can be exposed to rain 1 hour after application. Avoid using the windscreen wipers within
the first 10 hours, but in some instances they may have to be used. This can slightly reduce the length of time that the coating remains in place.

PLEASE NOTE

  • Do not apply the coating in damp or very humid conditions.
  • Do not apply the coating in hot, direct sunlight.
  • Do not apply the coating to windscreens which are coated with other agents such as car waxes, polishes, etc.
  • Do not apply the coating to hot windscreens (in hot regions it is best to apply the coating early in the morning or in the evening when the windscreen is cooler).
  • Do not apply the coating when the air temperature or glass temperature is greater than 30°C.
  • The Nano Protection swab will coat up to 2m² if the temperature of the windscreen is no more than 20°C. A higher windscreen temperature will reduce the coverage per swab.
  • The coating swab within the kit will provide protection for a windscreen for approximately 1 year or 20,000 km if applied correctly, based on average yearly figures in the UK.
